Vehicles rest in the valleys between the ridges, which keeps locomotives, carriages and railcars clearly arranged and separated. Because the vehicles are simply laid in place, the division suits different vehicle lengths and can be rearranged for new train formations.

Why store model trains in an IKEA ALEX drawer?

The Feldherr foam mat for TT gauge model trains is dimensioned for wide IKEA ALEX drawers, specifically the ALEX drawer unit on castors with a footprint of 67 x 66 cm. This converts existing furniture into a railway cabinet that holds complete train sets in one place. The setup allows sorting by gauge, era, railway company or vehicle type, which makes it practical for collections, layout operation and frequent vehicle changes.

How does the foam protect locomotives and carriages?

The Feldherr Zugliege protects models through its soft, fine-pored foam ridges, which separate the vehicles from one another and prevent direct contact between models. This shields paintwork and sensitive vehicle details, while the zigzag structure stops models from sliding around uncontrolled or rolling together. The foam is chlorine-free and acid-free and manufactured in Germany.

Which foam insert fits an IKEA ALEX drawer unit for TT gauge trains?

The Feldherr Zugliege for TT gauge (KQMFQQA01) is a zigzag foam mat made for wide IKEA ALEX drawers and the IKEA ALEX drawer unit on castors measuring 67 x 66 cm.
